Special Delivery!

Much to our surprise we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our third baby. I found out yesterday that I am 10 weeks along and the baby is due on December 31, 2009. A New Years Eve Baby!

I'm not sure how I dismissed all of the symptoms that I was experiencing and never once thought I could be pregnant. My face TOTALLY broke out, but I figured it was because I was stressed out from writing 20 student reports in 1 weekend. I was so tired when I came home from work that I would sit in the recliner and fall asleep sitting up, but I figured it was because my body was not accustomed to working. Irritability, check! All the sudden about 3 weeks ago I started feeling really sick, naturally I figured one of my little treasures from school exposed me to the Swine Flu or something ... I mean what would you think with all the crazy news channels??? The sickness lingered for 2 weeks before it occurred to me that I might want to take a pregnancy test. One Saturday when I was home alone, I decided to take one to rule out being pregnant. About 10 seconds later, PREGNANT appeared in the little window.

BBBBrrrrrring ..... Mike?
Mike: Yeah
Me: Ah, I just took a pregnancy test and it says that I am pregnant.
Mike: pause ... cool sweetie
Me: Okay I know this is a total shocker so I will call you back. I am going to take another test after I have to pee again.
Mike: okay call me back.

A little while later, I took the 2nd test and got my 2nd positive reading. Wow -- A BABY!! I called Mike back and we chatted for a while. I felt kinda bad for taking the test when he was at work but I really did not think it was going to be positive. Anyway, I made a doctors appointment, got an ultra sound and found out I was already 10 weeks along ... 25% of the way there!! AWESOME!!

We are all thinking the baby will be a boy but we would be delighted with a girl too! We will have to wait for another 8 weeks to find out. We can't think of 1 single name ... boy or girl ... that we agree on. At this point, I would settle for just feeling good.

My new doctor (the old one retried) has amazing technology in his office. Although the "take-home" picture is not very clear, the picture that I saw in the doctors office was AMAZING. I saw the little head, arms, and legs. I couldn't believe there was a little baby in there waiting to call me mommy:-) It's real .. very real now! We are super excited and can't wait to meet our little baby.
